What did Hearts fans think?

Alan: Wasteful. We only really got into the game in the odd spell here and there. We cannot keep going out with the mindset of attack, attack, attack because we will lose more games than we win. I expect us to lose in Austria because we are too vulnerable defensively and the coach does not seem to think it is an issue.

Jimmy: A terrific game for the neutral to watch, but as a Hearts supporter there are continued concerns about our defending. We are very close to having a team capable of challenging for all the prizes this season, but we need to cut out the defensive lapses. It was great to see James Wilson in action up front. He deserves a starting place and an extended run in the team.

Stephen: Contrasting emotions. Wilson's strike was world class and he did more in the five minutes after coming on than Landry Kabore and Amadou Ba-Sy have managed all season. We were defensively poor, with Jordi Altena's inability to complete simple passes contributing to the opening goal. It needs to be addressed.

Rick: I am not sure, given our defence, that we would be very good at going over there and protecting a narrow lead, so the fact it is now a one-off match we need to win may be better for us. They are very tidy on the ball and look after possession well, and I would like to see us be more careful with it. They had clearly done their homework on stopping us playing and, apart from when we rode a wave of motivation at the start of the second half, we did not really do ourselves justice.

Two brothers who sit together give their thoughts

Georgie: A great team performance, with an exceptional individual display from Claudio Braga. He continues to show his worth to the team every time he plays.

Ken: The game was there to be won and I would say Hearts let the opportunity slip. The second leg will be a cup tie, but ultimately the team with the greater desire will win.
